Oklahoma School Resource Officer (SRO) Program

 CLEET certification must be completed before enrolling in SRO training.

BFSSI’s SRO Program provides CLEET-aligned school safety instruction for professionals assigned to campus-based security roles. Training emphasizes constitutional considerations, youth engagement, emergency response, and collaboration with educators.

Training includes:

  • Youth development and communication
  • Trauma-informed interaction
  • Educational law and policy alignment
  • Student engagement and de-escalation
  • Ethical boundaries and role clarity
  • Multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Documentation and reporting standards

Learning Outcomes

Participants will be able to:

  1. Identify legal authorities and responsibilities of SROs in Oklahoma schools.
  2. Explain constitutional considerations, student rights, and juvenile law.
  3. Demonstrate appropriate response protocols for school-based incidents.
  4. Collaborate effectively with administrators and educators.
  5. Recognize indicators of safety risks and behavioral concerns.
  6. Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and partners.
  7. Support a safe, orderly learning environment with professionalism.
  8. Comply with CLEET standards and Oklahoma guidelines for SRO service.
